Description:
In this course you will learn the underlying concepts of Qi, Yin and Yang, Meridians, Extraordinary Vessels and the 5 Elements and learn to apply the Taoist practices of Yin Yoga and Qigong for health, wellness and happiness.
Yin Yoga represents a counter to the more dominant yang world and general fitness. Characteristic of Yin Yoga is a slower, inwardly focused and meditative approach, whereby the practitioner moves gradually and deliberately, holding postures, allowing for whatever may arise and observing its appearance and then moving onward.
Qigong is an ancient Chinese holistic yogic system of healing that integrates a posture whether moving or stationary; breathing techniques; self-massage and mental focus to facilitate the flow of energy. By establishing a balanced flow of energy, you produce your own internal medicine. Qigong can be done by anyone, and it is intended to be practiced daily. You do not need equipment or a large practice space.
Your course instructors are Daoshi Dr. Michael Bittner, Ph.D. and Yogini Ms. Libby Cunningham, E-RYT 500.
As an experiential class, come ready to move with each class. It is recommended that you do not have a heavy meal in advance. Textbooks will be provided. All participants will receive a Yin endorsement for their Advanced YTT and credit towards the Way of the Tao.

It will examine the importance of the microbiome in human health, the history of how our soil became depleted, the use of genetically modified organisms in our food system, and different ways we can all make an impact on the future health of our soil and our bodies.
This introduction will open the door for how we can lead a life that is more in tune with nature, and how we can heal the body, mind, and spirit using the power within. Movement, Traditional Indian Medicine (TIM) and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) concepts will be incorporated into the program to emphasize the connection between our inner and outer eco-system and our inseparableness with nature.
